Good afternoon, Brahmas. This message is for parents of students with special needs, as well as any volunteers from the community who may be affected.
We have received an update from the Special Olympics organization regarding the Basketball Special Olympics Competition, originally scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, March 29th) and Sunday March 30th. Unfortunately, the event has been canceled due to weather conditions. Many districts, which were planning to travel to the competition, are expected to experience inclement weather tomorrow.
Please note that while Kingsville ISD offered to host the event, the decision to cancel lies with the Special Olympics organization and not with the school district.
The Special Olympics organization apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. They will work to reschedule the event for a future date, and we will share the new details with the community as soon as they are available.
